Purple Moves Me
I must admit, that no other color moves me as much as the color purple. I love most shades of purple, especially the deep tones, but I also enjoy the color of lilacs. I really like most colors, but there are only a few which look good on me. The color green is probably more favorable to my complexion and eyes, but purple is where it is at.
I finally found just the right combination of yarns to go together for a pair of mitts to match my beret. This was no easy task. I have no intention of using the Plymouth Boku I used for the beret on the fingerless mitts, as the integrity of the yarn is poor. I still plan on using the Boku on other things, such as felting projects, where it is ideal, but I wanted something soft, hand painted, and of high quality for my mitts. So, I'll be using Louet Gems and Araucania Ranco Multi. The Gems is wonderful, but I am not familiar with Ranco. The colors are gorgeous, and exactly what I wanted, so I am sure I will be casting on in no time, like tomorrow, another potential snow day. I may as well sit home and knit, as the thermostat on my car has blown, I'll be grounded for at least one day, and the weather report indicates 6-7 inches of snow.

I love love LOVE the colors in your beret. Those are the colors that speak to me. Enjoy your snow day, knit lots. At least you have the yarn you want for the mitts so we expect to see some mitts in a day or two. ;-)
BTW, I think I'm just having problems on your Typepad blog. Other Typepad blogs remember my personal info.

Love the new look of the blog! You may recall that I'm a Purple Person too, with blues and greens next as faves.
