Here's Lisa, Grand Dame and organizer of my SnB knitting group, with her fair isle sweater, Lillehammer, or Big Sweater, as she calls it, which she knit for her husband. No, Lisa is not a midget, and her husband not a giant, but she is short, and he is a big boy.
It took years to complete, not because she was working continuously, but rather I believe she lost a sleeve or two for awhile. When she brought in the completed sweater, we were all speechless, and then we began to speak in muted whispers. It really is a work of art.
Mr. Husband wouldn't be getting mustard on this baby, if he were mine. I think I'd only allow him to wear it for pictures, but Lisa's hubby is used to wearing colorful socks and such, and wears them with style and pride. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the cool silk socks she knit for him.
We have quite a few talented knitters in our group, and everyone has something unique to offer each other. Some have an affinity for fair isle, others for socks, some spin wonderful creations, while others are just beginning. It's a wonderfully diverse group. Here is a picture of the baby hats our group donated for Caps to the Capitol, organized by Laurel. I think Liz knit 10! Thank you, Laurel, for helping us to participate!
Pictures taken by Linda - thanks Linda!

Omigosh, there is so much detail in that sweater, I'd be afraid to wear and possibly accidentally ruin it. I especially like the pattern in the hexagon sections. But wow, that is one BIG sweater!

OMG! That sweater is absolutely incredible! Kudos to Lisa! Your group sounds like a lot of fun. I'm still freaking out about that sweater, barely lucid after looking at it. I need to go lie down, my head is spinning.
